About Us
Big Apple Umpires shas provided umpiring services throughout the boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx along with all of Nassau County for more than 40 years. Many of our Big Apple Umpires are professionally trained at either the High School or Collegiate Level. Our professional training staff also provides the necessary training for prospective umpiring candidates.
We provide services to organizations such as N.Y.A.B.L., NY Mets Sandlot, Glen Cove Jr. Baseball & Softball, Queens Alliance Baseball League, Dwarf-Giraffe, Bayside, East Rockaway, Oceanside, Freeport, Bayville, Rosedale and Seaford Little Leagues. Big Apple Umpires are the exclusive umpiring group for the following annual tournaments: Bayside Yankees Liberty Tournament, Long Island Tigers Tournament, and the Glen Cove Mayor's Trophy Tournament. Big Apple Baseball Umpires are committed to the highest umpiring excellence both on and off the field.

Big Apple Umpires 2012 Rookie Class
Basic Umpiring training for new candidates begin Wednsday January 11th, 2012 at Mineola High School. Classes run from 7 PM to 10 PM every Wednesday for 12 weeks. Fee for the class is $325 which includes a set of MLB rules plus a Big Apple Hat.

Cleveland Sandlot vs. Greater New York Sandlot All-Star Game at Keyspan Park
On Saturday August 15th & Sunday August 16th an All-Star team from the Greater Cleveland area came to New York to play a three game weekend series against the Greater New York Sandlot All-Stars. Big Apple Umpires along with umpires from the PGL were asked to umpires the three game series....The kids were given V.I.P. treatment including tickets to the Mets -Giants game. The Greater New York Sandlot team won 2 out of the 3 games played.
Big Apple Umpires night at Glen Cove Stadium
The Glen Cove Baseball Association deemed Thursday August 6, 2009 as "Big Apple Umpires Night". Every baseball game that night was umpired by a Big Apple Umpire. Sixteen umpires in all participated in the event. Food and beverages were provided by Glen Cove and a great time was had by all.
